Hi, welcome to Dynamite.

Dynamite is a youth club with an enthusiastic team of people who want to make the time the youngsters spend with us exciting and memorable. it’s a place to relax, chat and ask questions about life, the universe and everything. We would love you to join us and you can be assured of a very warm welcome.

Who

Dynamite is for secondary school aged young people.

When

It takes place on the first and third Friday’s of each month.

Where

Dynamite takes place at Somersham Baptist Church which is on the high street.

What happens at Dynamite…?

The evening is split into a mixture of three parts:

• free choice activities (Wii, twister, chess, jenga, nail polish, table tennis etc.)
• organised games
• a thought provoking epilogue

It is designed to help the children engage with challenging questions about God, faith and the Bible. So far these have been a real success.

We hope and pray that the club will provide the following:

• a safe, Christian environment for teens to meet, socialise and have fun
• support for Christian teenagers to live out their faith in an increasingly secular society
• help for those still exploring or new to Christianity to find out more

Mission Statement

The purpose if Dynamite is to provide a safe Christian environment for secondary school aged young people to meet, socialise, have fun and learn about what the Bible has to say to them today.

Values

The values we share with our young people will be based around the following principles:

Love

To treat one another how they would like to be treated and in the light of the love that God has for each and every person he created. To respect the role of the leaders in caring for them, the building, and the resources provided for their enjoyment.

Understanding

Together we will explore what the Bible says about issues that are relevant to them and consider how Jesus is still changing lives today.

Socialise

Through free time and organised games our young people will grow in confidence in their social relationships.

Have Fun

We will endeavour to provide activities that our young people enjoy. We will be led by their suggestions in this area, as far as is practical and safe.

Leaders Values

As leaders we will be guided by the following principles:

Love

Motivated by the love God has for us we will endeavour to model caring behaviour, in the way we speak, think and act, towards each other and the young people.

Inform

We will endeavour to teach the Bible honestly and accurately, helping our young people to understand God’s love and what it means to live as a Christian today.

Prayer

We will pray for our young people; for God’s blessing on them and for His help and guidance in all that we do.

Safety

The safety of our young people will be our priority. We will stop any activity if, in our opinion, their inattention to our instructions renders it dangerous. We will inspect our equipment regularly. All our leaders will be CRB checked.
